Colombia Sentiment Rebounds in August

In September 2025, Colombia's Consumer Confidence Index improved significantly, reaching 1.6%. This marks an increase of 4.0 percentage points from the previous month, August, where it was at -2.4%, moving back into positive territory. The primary factor behind this rise was a 6.9-point boost in the Economic Conditions Index, now at 0.1%. This change indicates a healthier current financial situation for households, moving to 0.5% from -2.2%, and a decrease in concerns about purchasing durable goods, with the figure improving to -0.4% from -11.3%. Additionally, the Consumer Expectations Index rose by 2.1 points to reach 2.6%. This was bolstered by a slightly more favorable economic outlook for the country, improving to -6.3% from -9.7%, although there was a slight decline in optimism regarding households' future conditions, which decreased to 26.2% from 28.4%. When compared to September 2024, when the index was at -16.0%, there is an overall rise of 17.6 points.
