Retail sales in Denmark rose by 3.5% in September 2025 compared to the same month the previous year, building upon a revised increase of 2.6% observed in August. This represents the most significant uptick since May, driven largely by accelerated sales in clothing, which expanded by 5.5% as opposed to 4.1% in August, and other consumer goods, which soared to 7.9% from 5%. Conversely, there was a notable decline in trade for food and other grocery items, which dropped by 2.2%, a steeper fall compared to the 0.4% decrease seen earlier. On a month-to-month comparison, retail activity remained stagnant in September, contrasting with a modest 0.3% increase recorded in August.
