Brazil Consumer Confidence Hits 10-Month High

In October 2025, Brazil's seasonally adjusted FGV-IBRE Consumer Confidence Index increased to 88.5, up from 87.5 the previous month, marking the highest level since December 2024. This growth was primarily due to an enhanced outlook among lower-income families. Confidence among these households surged by 5.1 points, reaching 82.6, while the confidence level among higher-income households experienced a modest rise of 0.3, reaching 94.2. The Expectations Index and Current Situation Index both saw a 1-point increase, reaching 92.8 and 83.0, respectively. Within the assessment of current conditions, perceptions of the local economy improved by 2.3 points to 95.5, although assessments of household finances slightly decreased by 0.3 to 70.8. Looking ahead, expectations for the local economy increased by 2.3 points to 106.9, and expectations for household finances saw a rise of 5.8 to 89.7. The only area experiencing a downturn was the intention to purchase durable goods, which fell by 5.6 points to 82.6.
