Dutch Manufacturing PMI Falls to 4-Month Low

The Nevi Netherlands Manufacturing PMI dropped to a four-month low of 51.8 in October 2025, following a peak of 53.7 in September, the highest in over three years. Despite the slowdown in growth, new orders continued to propel expansion, bolstered by a revival in export demand, with increased interest from customers across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. As a result, manufacturing output maintained its upward trend, ongoing since March. Conversely, employment levels declined for the first time since May, due to a combination of voluntary departures, restructuring efforts, and reductions in temporary staffing. On the pricing front, input costs experienced a slight increase, predominantly due to rising prices in food, energy, and raw materials, while the rate of output price inflation decreased to its lowest in a year. Nonetheless, manufacturers maintained an optimistic outlook for the next twelve months, albeit the overall confidence remained below the series' average levels.
