In October 2025, Sri Lanka experienced a 21.5% year-over-year increase in foreign tourist arrivals, totaling 165,193. This follows a notable 30.2% rise in the preceding month. India emerged as the leading source market, contributing 29.1% of the visitors, followed by the United Kingdom at 7.8%, Russia at 7%, China at 6.6%, and Germany at 5.9%. Over the first ten months of the year, Sri Lanka saw a 16.7% increase in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the previous year, with a cumulative total of 1,890,687 visitors. On a month-to-month basis, there was a 3.9% uptick in arrivals.
