In October 2025, North Macedonia witnessed an annual inflation rate surge to 4.5%, marking its highest point in three months, up from 4.0% in September. The primary contributors to this increase were observed in the escalating prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which jumped to 7.0% from 4.3% in September. Similarly, housing and utilities recorded an uptick to 1.8% from 1.7%, while recreation and culture saw a significant rise to 7.8% from 7.0%. Additionally, restaurants and hotels experienced price growth reaching 5.2%, up from 3.4%. On the other hand, the growth rate for prices slowed in sectors such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics, declining to 6.7% from 9.0%. Clothing and footwear saw a slight decrease to 2.8% from 3.0%, while furniture, household equipment, and maintenance edged down to 4.7% from 5.0%. The category of miscellaneous goods and services also fell to 3.0% from 3.3%. Meanwhile, transport costs decreased by 1.4%, a notable shift from the 5.7% increase recorded in September. On a monthly comparison, consumer prices dipped by 0.2% in October, maintaining the same rate of decline as observed in the prior month.
