Meanwhile, the construction sector faced a decline of 15,000 jobs, or 0.9%. Regionally, employment grew in Ontario, adding 55,000 jobs, or 0.7%, and in Newfoundland and Labrador, which saw an increase of 4,400 jobs, or 1.8%. However, Nova Scotia and Manitoba experienced declines, losing 4,400 jobs, or 0.8%, and 4,000 jobs, or 0.5%, respectively. Overall, the cumulative job gains for September and October, totaling 127,000, or 0.6%, have effectively counteracted the declines observed in July and August, which amounted to 106,000, or 0.5%.
