FX.co ★ Saudi Industrial Output Growth Accelerates 9.3% in September

In September 2025, industrial production in Saudi Arabia experienced a significant year-on-year increase of 9.3%, surpassing the upwardly revised growth figure of 6.8% observed in the previous month. This growth was primarily fueled by a robust expansion in oil-related activities, which surged by 10.1% compared to 8.3% in August, largely driven by a notable rise in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, which increased by 11.0% from 8.9%. Additionally, there was a marked acceleration in sectors such as water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, which grew by 9.2% compared to 6.0% the previous month. In the non-oil sector, activities expanded at a quicker pace of 7.3%, up from 4.4%, bolstered by an increase in manufacturing output, which rose by 6.5% from 3.7%. Within this segment, there were notable growth rates in the production of paper and paper products, which increased by 3.5% from 3.2%, and chemicals and chemical products, which rose by 9.2% from 8.6%. Furthermore, there was a strengthening of output growth in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which saw a significant rise to 12.6% from 8.7%. On a month-to-month basis, industrial activity expanded by 1.9%, following a revised increase of 1.0% in August.
