In October 2025, the Czech unemployment rate experienced a slight increase to 4.6% from 4.5% in September, contrary to analysts’ expectations of it holding steady. This figure marks the highest unemployment rate since March 2017. The number of unemployed individuals rose by 2,584 from the previous month, reaching a total of 340,509, which represents an increase of 51,506 compared to the same period last year. This uptick in unemployment was noted in nine regions, where the rate increased by 0.1 percentage points compared to September, whereas the remaining five regions maintained steady employment levels.
