Brazil Stocks Set 10th Straight Record High

On Monday, the Ibovespa index climbed 0.6%, reaching nearly 155,000 points, and marking a new all-time high for the 10th consecutive session. This rise aligns with global market optimism fueled by hopes for a resolution to the U.S. government shutdown. Among the index's major stocks, Vale increased by 1%, Petrobras saw a 0.7% uptick, Ambev also gained 0.7%, and Rede D’Or São Luiz surged 2.3%. Shares of Axia Energia, previously known as Eletrobras, began trading under new identifiers on the B3, appreciating by approximately 2%. Raízen's shares leaped 2.4% following its agreement to sell the Continental plant to Grupo Colorado for BRL 750 million. Additionally, Assaí experienced a 1.1% rise after revealing plans for an investment of BRL 700 million for the upcoming year. Conversely, Oi's shares plummeted 17.9% as the company faced the prospect of insolvency amid its ongoing judicial restructuring. In other developments, Braskem (0.1%), Itaúsa (0.5%), and Sabesp (0.2%) are poised to announce their financial results later today.
