Industrial production in Romania experienced a slight year-on-year increase of 0.2% in September 2025, marking a recovery from a 0.9% decrease observed in the previous month. The manufacturing sector showed signs of improvement, with output rising by 0.5%, following a 1.6% decline in August. In the mining and quarrying sector, activity decreased at a slower rate of -1.1%, compared to -2.6% previously. Meanwhile, the output in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector remained stable, unchanged from the 2.1% increase registered the month before. On a month-to-month basis, industrial production saw a 1.1% rebound in September, the first rise in four months, after experiencing a 1.9% drop in the prior period.
