Paraguay Trade Gap Widens in October

In October 2025, Paraguay experienced an increase in its trade deficit, reaching $191.7 million, compared to $182.9 million in the same month the previous year. Imports surged by 15.2%, amounting to $1.71 billion, mainly due to widespread growth, particularly in primary goods. Meanwhile, exports saw a 16.7% rise, totaling $1.52 billion, significantly bolstered by olive oil, which skyrocketed by 175.2%, soy flour, which increased by 120.5%, and corn, which grew by 68.7%. However, these positive developments in exports were somewhat counterbalanced by notable decreases in the shipments of cotton, down by 33.3%, wheat, down by 34%, and sugar, which plummeted by 67.8%.
