Thailand Targets THB 2.8 Trillion in Tourism Revenue by 2026

Thailand has set an ambitious target to achieve THB 2.8 trillion in tourism revenue by 2026, spearheaded by the introduction of the "Trusted Thailand" emblem. This initiative is designed to bolster traveler confidence and expedite the tourism sector's recovery. According to Tourism and Sports Minister Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, the project, led by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), aims to "reassure tourists of their safety" while encouraging return visits. The minister emphasized that the emblem is expected to play a pivotal role in restoring market trust and achieving revenue objectives for the forthcoming year. In the first ten months of this year, Thailand received 27.56 million international tourists, representing a 7.14% decline compared to the same timeframe last year. Nonetheless, earnings from international visitors amounted to THB 1.27 trillion, highlighting the sector's significance to the national economy. Malaysia, China, and India remain Thailand's top tourism source countries.
