Croatia Inflation Hits 5-Month Low

In October 2025, Croatia's annual inflation rate decreased to a five-month low of 3.6%, down from 4.2% in September, aligning with the preliminary forecast. There was a noticeable deceleration in price increases across several sectors. Specifically, the costs for food and non-alcoholic beverages moderated to 4.4% from 5.7% in the previous month, housing and utilities softened to 8.4% from 8.8%, and miscellaneous goods and services decreased to 3.7% from 4.5%. Additionally, the prices for furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance edged down to 0.1% from 0.2%, recreation and culture fell to 3.0% compared to 3.2%, restaurants and hotels decreased to 6.9% from 7.0%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco declined to 4.5% from 5.3%. Declines were also evident in transport, which fell by 1.1% versus a 0.8% drop previously, clothing and footwear by 2.2% compared to stable prices, and education by 1.5% relative to a 1.0% decrease. On a month-over-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.6% in October, slightly surpassing the preliminary 0.5% expectation, following a 0.4% rise in September.
