In September 2025, Colombia experienced a notable 5.2% increase in industrial production compared to the same month the previous year, surpassing the 1.0% growth recorded in August and exceeding the anticipated 4% uptick. This upward trend was primarily fueled by significant advancements in the manufacturing sectors of pharmaceuticals, which grew by 13.8%, clothing with a surge of 15.2%, non-metallic minerals at 10.1%, other types of transport equipment at an impressive 32.7%, and dairy products which saw a 12.1% rise. However, there were declines observed in certain sectors: paper and paper products dropped by 5.5%, sugar production decreased by 8.9%, and chemical products fell by 5.4%. Additionally, real sales saw a 5.3% rise compared to the previous year, and industrial employment experienced a modest increase of 0.8%.
