In September 2025, Belgium's construction sector experienced no growth compared to the same period last year, marking a halt following the revised 7.3% increase recorded in the previous month. This stagnation was primarily attributed to decreased production in building construction, which fell by 2.5% compared to a significant 6.3% increase in August, and a 2.3% decline in civil engineering, down from a 6.1% rise. Additionally, growth in specialized construction activities slowed considerably to 1.3%, a noticeable drop from August's 7.8% increase. On a seasonally adjusted basis, monthly construction activity declined by 1.1% in September, which was a slight improvement from the 1.6% reduction seen in the prior month.
