In October 2025, East Timor's annual inflation rate remained steady at 0.9%, the same as the previous month. A slight decline was observed in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.8% compared to 2% in September) and in housing (1.2% compared to 1.3%). Additionally, deflation decreased within the transport sector (-0.7% compared to -0.8%) and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-3.1% compared to -3.5%), while prices for clothing and footwear, health, education, and communication remained stable at 0%, 0%, 0.4%, and -0.2%, respectively. On the other hand, costs rose more significantly for furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (1.4% compared to 0.8%) and recreation and culture (0.5% compared to 0.4%). Monthly, consumer prices decreased by 0.2% in October 2025, counteracting the 0.1% increase recorded in the prior month.
