The number of unemployed individuals rose by 2,000 from the previous month, reaching over a four-year peak of 411,000. Conversely, employment saw an increase of 12,000, bringing the total to 9.855 million, while the labor force participation rate remained stable at 76.4%. In October, 30,600 new unemployment benefit claims were issued, raising the total to 195,400, while 22,700 claims concluded. When compared to the same period last year, the unemployment rate elevated by 0.3 percentage points from the 2.7% recorded in October 2024.
