FTSE MIB Rebounds

The FTSE MIB climbed 0.5% to approximately 42,860 in early trading on Monday, rebounding from losses incurred on Friday. This upward movement is aligned with the gains observed in most European markets, spurred by renewed optimism that the US Federal Reserve might reduce interest rates in the upcoming month. On the domestic front, investors are poised to scrutinize significant economic indicators this week, such as business and consumer confidence surveys, the final estimate of third-quarter GDP, and the preliminary inflation figures for November. Leading the charge were Stellantis with a 3.0% rise, STMicroelectronics and Davide Campari-Milano, both up by 2.4%, followed by Telecom Italia with a 1.9% increase, and Prysmian and Buzzi Unicem each gaining 1.6%. Conversely, shares of the defense company Leonardo declined by 1.9%, amid emerging prospects of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
