In September 2025, Canada's average weekly earnings for non-farm payroll employees increased by 3.1% compared to the same month last year, reaching $1,317.09. This follows a 2.7% rise in August. Seventeen of the twenty sectors saw earnings growth, with the most significant increases observed in forestry, logging, and support services, which increased by 7.9% to $1,493.39; construction, up by 7.2% to $1,625.65; management of companies and enterprises, which rose by 5.5% to $1,833.61; and real estate and rental and leasing, increasing by 5.0% to $1,331.35. On the other hand, some sectors experienced a decline: arts, entertainment, and recreation fell by 3.9% to $739.73; wholesale trade dipped by 2.4% to $1,527.70; and retail trade saw a slight decrease of 0.9% to $739.29.
