Turkey's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate slightly decreased to 8.5% in October 2025, down from 8.6% in September, achieving its lowest level since July. The number of unemployed individuals declined by 27,000, reaching a three-month low of 3.03 million. Concurrently, total employment rose by 185,000 to 32.77 million, pushing the overall employment rate up to 49.2% from 49%. Male employment remained considerably higher at 66.5%, compared to female employment at 32.4%. There was also a subtle increase in labor force participation, which rose to 53.8% from 53.6%, indicating gradual improvements in workforce involvement. Nevertheless, youth unemployment (ages 15–24) climbed to 15.6% in October from 15% in September, suggesting that younger workers persist in experiencing difficulties despite overall employment gains.
