The registered unemployment figures for mainland France saw an uptick of 68,800 individuals in October 2025, bringing the total to 3.151 million, marking the highest point since March of the same year. This increase spanned various demographic groups, with significant rises observed among core-aged individuals, which went up by 43,700, reaching a total of 1.802 million. The number of unemployed individuals over the age of 50 increased by 17,900 to 816,100, while those under the age of 25 saw an increase of 7,200, bringing the total to 532,900. Compared to the previous year, the number of registered unemployed rose by 257,900.
