Iceland Current Account Surplus Narrows

In the third quarter of 2025, Iceland's current account surplus contracted to ISK 26.9 billion, down from ISK 41 billion in the comparable period of the prior year. The goods account deficit experienced a notable increase, expanding to ISK 101.6 billion from ISK 75.2 billion recorded in the third quarter of 2024. Additionally, the secondary income deficit grew to ISK 15.1 billion, up from ISK 10.3 billion. Conversely, the services account surplus increased to ISK 137.4 billion, from ISK 131.7 billion, while the primary income account registered a surplus of ISK 6.2 billion, reversing a deficit of ISK 5.2 billion in the same period the previous year.
