Dutch Manufacturing Output Rebounds in October

In October 2025, the Netherlands experienced a slight uptick in manufacturing production, posting a 0.2% increase compared to the previous month, recovering from a revised decline of 0.3% in September. The sectors contributing to this rebound included leather and footwear, which saw a 3.2% rise following a 0.9% drop in September, and paper, with an impressive 6.7% rise after a significant 5.7% fall. Noteworthy growth was also observed in petroleum at 17.4%, overturning a steep 14.1% decline, rubber and plastics at 1%, and basic metals which rose by 2.4% following a slight reduction. Additionally, the production of other transportation equipment and metal products improved by 1.4% and 1.1%, respectively, after previous declines. The electrical equipment sector continued its strong expansion, climbing to 13.4% from 5.8% in September. Conversely, there was a deceleration in growth for textiles, which grew by 1.8% versus the previous 3%, wood at 1.1% down from 2.6%, and pharmaceuticals at 2.8%, a notable decrease from 11.1% growth. On a year-over-year basis, the manufacturing sector grew by 1.9%, slowing slightly from the 2.4% increase observed in September.
