US Crude Oil Inventories Fall Less than Expected: EIA

U.S. crude oil inventories experienced a decline of 1.812 million barrels for the week ending December 5, 2025. This followed an increase of 0.574 million barrels in the previous week and fell short of market predictions for a 2.3 million barrel reduction. Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma delivery hub saw an upswing of 308 thousand barrels, following four weeks of continuous declines. In contrast, gasoline inventories surged significantly by 6.397 million barrels, surpassing the anticipated 2.8 million-barrel increase. Additionally, distillate stockpiles, encompassing diesel and heating oil, rose by 2.502 million barrels, exceeding expectations for a 1.9 million-barrel increment.
