In October 2025, Slovakia witnessed a 3.7% increase in construction output compared to the same month the previous year. However, this represented a noticeable deceleration from the prior month's extraordinary peak of 19%, which was the highest in over seven years. Both international and domestic construction activities experienced this downturn, with overseas growth slowing to 13.6% from 41.2% in September, and domestic growth reducing to 2.5% from 16.4%. In the domestic sector, all segments reflected this slower pace, including new construction projects which grew by 2.6% as opposed to September's 15.9%, repairs and maintenance of buildings which rose by 5.8% compared to 14.8%, and general building activities which increased by 6.2% down from 16.2%. Additionally, engineering construction saw a decline, falling by 4.5% following the previous month's 16.7% growth. When adjusted for seasonal variations on a month-to-month basis, construction output decreased by 3.6% in October.
