In November 2025, the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) reported a significant rise in its business confidence index, which reached 132.3, marking its highest point since July 2011, up from 13.8 in the previous month. This surge was largely attributed to a notable increase in international tourist arrivals. However, the chamber advised caution when interpreting these figures, as several critical physical economic activities continue to lag. This situation highlights the challenges of a sluggish economy that requires bolstered investor confidence and a rise in fixed investments.
