Brazil Industry Confidence Dips in December

In December 2025, Brazil’s Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index declined to 48.0 from 48.3 in November, concluding a streak of three consecutive monthly increases. Throughout 2025, the index consistently remained below the critical 50-point mark, reflecting ongoing pessimism among industrial enterprises. Specifically, the Current Conditions Index decreased to 43.8, with company conditions assessments dropping by 0.7 points to 46.2, while perceptions regarding the Brazilian economy stayed nearly constant with a slight increase of 0.1 point, reaching 39.1. Meanwhile, the Expectations Index fell to 50.0, thereby suspending a series of four successive rises and positioning itself right at the neutral point. Economic expectations declined by 0.4 points to 42.9, and company outlooks slightly decreased by 0.3 points to 53.6.
