Argentina Inflation Picks Up in November

In November 2025, Argentina experienced a month-on-month increase of 2.5% in consumer prices, following a 2.3% rise in October and slightly surpassing the anticipated 2.4%. Notably, there was a price acceleration in sectors such as recreation and culture, which rose to 2.4% compared to 1.6% in October; restaurants and hotels increased to 2.7% from 2.2%; and housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels saw a jump to 3.4% from 2.8%. Additionally, communication costs grew from 2.2% to 2.7%. Conversely, there was a deceleration in the prices of transportation (3.0% down from 3.5%), clothing and footwear (reduced to 0.5% from 2.4%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (slowing to 1.2% from 2.4%), and home equipment and maintenance (falling to 1.1% from 1.6%). The cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages also saw a slight increase to 2.4% from 2.3%. On an annual basis, consumer prices escalated by 31.4%, which marks a slight rise from 31.3% in October. This represents the first increase after a significant period of disinflation that commenced in early 2024 and exceeded the forecasted 30.9%.
