In November 2025, Sri Lanka experienced a 15.6% increase in foreign tourist arrivals year-on-year, reaching a total of 212,906 visitors. This followed a 21.5% rise in the prior month, representing the highest monthly influx since March and surpassing figures from 2018, a significant year in the country's post-crisis tourism recovery. India remained the leading source market, contributing 24.1% of November's visitors, a reflection of enduring cultural and geographic connections that have consistently supported tourism. This was followed by Russia at 11.7%, the United Kingdom at 7.9%, and Germany at 6.8%. For the period from January to November, tourist arrivals increased by 16.6% compared to the same span in 2024, totaling 2,103,593. On a month-to-month basis, arrivals jumped by 28.9%.
