In October 2025, Hungary experienced an 8.7% year-on-year increase in gross wages, reaching HUF 692,700. This marks a slowdown from the 9.5% rise seen in the previous month. All primary subsectors showed decelerated growth: the private sector increased by 8.1% compared to 8.8% in September, the public sector grew by 10.8% down from 12.2%, and the non-profit sector saw an 8.9% rise, a decrease from 9.9%. Excluding the effects of one-off payments and bonuses, wages in October were 9% higher than the same period last year, amounting to HUF 668,000. For the period from January to October, average gross wages rose by 9.1%.
