In December 2025, Italy's manufacturing confidence index decreased to 88.4, falling from a downwardly revised figure of 89.5 in November, and missing market expectations of 89.3. There was a decline in expectations for both orders, which dropped from 4.3 to 3.7, and production, which fell from 3.4 to 2.7. Additionally, manufacturers developed a more pessimistic view regarding future employment, shifting from 0.5 to -0.3. Meanwhile, although the economic outlook improved slightly, it remained negative, improving from -11.2 to -10.5.
