In November 2025, Croatia experienced an increase in its unemployment rate, which rose to 4.5% from 4.2% in October, marking the highest level since April. The number of unemployed individuals rose by 4.2% month-on-month, reaching 81,100. Concurrently, employment figures dropped by 1.1% to 1.7 million, and the labor force contracted by 0.9% to 1.8 million. Within the realm of paid employment among legal entities, notable gains were seen in sectors such as mining and quarrying (3.7%), wholesale and retail trade (0.2%), real estate activities (1.9%), and education (2.8%). However, there were decreases in agriculture, forestry, and fishing (-4.5%), manufacturing (-4.1%), and professional, scientific, and technical activities (-1.4%). For context, the unemployment rate was higher at 5% in November of the previous year.
