In October 2025, Slovakia's current account deficit experienced a significant decrease, falling to EUR 197.3 million from EUR 580.5 million compared to the same month the previous year. The trade balance showed improvement, with the goods account moving to a surplus of USD 179.5 million from a deficit of USD 64.8 million in October 2024. Furthermore, the surplus in the services account expanded notably to USD 27.0 million, up from USD 11.5 million a year ago. There was also a considerable reduction in the primary income deficit, which decreased to USD 324.9 million from USD 430.6 million, while the secondary income deficit lessened to USD 78.9 million from USD 96.6 million.
