Thailand Car Sales Slow in November

In November 2025, domestic car sales in Thailand experienced a 20.65% year-on-year increase, reaching 51,046 units, as reported by the Federation of Thai Industries. This growth moderated from the 24.78% rise recorded in October, yet it signaled the eighth consecutive month of yearly expansion. The rise was fueled by strong demand, boosted by increasing consumer confidence and year-end promotional campaigns. Car production witnessed an 11.06% year-on-year rise to 130,222 units, indicating a steady recovery within Thailand's automotive manufacturing sector.

However, certain challenges persist, notably the sharp decline in passenger internal combustion engine vehicle sales over the first eleven months. This downturn was largely attributed to the cessation of production for specific export models. Concurrently, Thailand's car exports experienced a 12.2% annual decline. Looking forward, industry officials maintain cautious optimism. Current total vehicle production indicates that Thailand is likely to meet its 2025 production target of 1.45 million units, although the goal of exporting 950,000 units remains uncertain.
