In the third quarter of 2025, Hong Kong's current account surplus decreased to HKD 98.2 billion, down from HKD 113.2 billion in the same timeframe the previous year. The primary income surplus experienced a notable decline, falling to HKD 54.5 billion from HKD 80.3 billion in the third quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, the secondary income deficit slightly increased, reaching HKD 5.9 billion compared to HKD 5.2 billion in the previous year. Contrarily, the goods account shifted from a deficit of HKD 0.6 billion to a surplus of HKD 1.5 billion in Q3 2025. Additionally, the services account surplus expanded considerably, growing from HKD 38.8 billion to HKD 48.0 billion.
