In November 2025, manufacturing output in the United States remained steady, showing no change after a decline of 0.4% in October. The durable goods sector saw its index decrease by 0.5% in October before a slight drop of 0.1% in November. Within the durables category, most industry groups experienced reductions in output. Notably, the motor vehicles and parts segment decreased by 5.1% in October and 1% in November. Conversely, the aerospace and miscellaneous transportation equipment index increased by 3.2% over the two months, and the computer and electronic products index rose by 2.3%. On the other hand, the nondurable goods index fell by 0.2% in October, but improved by 0.1% in November, with varied performance across its industry groups. Specifically, within the largest nondurable goods categories, the index for food, beverages, and tobacco products increased by 1.5%, whereas the chemicals index saw a decline of 1.5%. Manufacturing's capacity utilization remained at 75.4% in November, consistent with the previous month’s figure.
