The FAO Food Price Index decreased by 0.6%, reaching 124.3 points in December 2025, marking the lowest level since August 2024. This decline resulted from reductions in the price indices for dairy products, meat, and vegetable oils, which more than compensated for the rises in the indices for cereals and sugar. Over the entirety of 2025, the index averaged 127.2 points, representing a 4.3% increase compared to the 2024 average.
