Croatia Trade Deficit Narrows in November

In November 2025, Croatia experienced a reduction in its trade deficit, which decreased to EUR 1.3 billion compared to EUR 1.4 billion in the same period the previous year. This change occurred as the decline in exports was less significant than the drop in imports. Specifically, exports saw a 4.5% year-on-year decrease, amounting to EUR 2.1 billion, while imports fell by 5.6% to EUR 3.4 billion. Over the January to November timeframe, however, the trade deficit expanded to EUR 17.7 billion from EUR 17.5 billion compared to the previous year. During this period, exports increased marginally by 0.5% to EUR 23.1 billion, bolstered by an uptick in sales to both the EU, rising by 5.8%, and non-EU countries, which saw a 3.2% increase. Imports, on the other hand, grew by 3.2%, reaching EUR 40.8 billion due to heightened acquisitions from the EU by 1.1% and from non-EU countries by 11.3%.
