FX.co ★ Dutch Jobless Rate Remains Steady at 4%

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the Netherlands held steady at 4% in December 2025, mirroring the figures from the preceding three months. This level represents the highest rate observed since September 2021, as the number of unemployed individuals rose by 2,000 from the previous month, reaching a total of 410,000. Notably, unemployment among those aged 15 to 25 increased during the latter half of the year, with the rate for young women climbing to 9.1%, up from 8.7% in June 2025. Additionally, the jobless rate saw a significant rise among men aged 25 to 45, as well as those aged 45 to 75. Concurrently, employment figures fell by 4,000 to 9.842 million, while the labor force participation rate stood at 76.2%. In comparison to the same period the previous year, the unemployment rate was 0.3 percentage points higher than the 3.7% recorded in December 2024.
