Colombia Industrial Output Growth at 7-Month Low

In November 2025, Colombia's industrial production experienced a modest growth of 0.7% compared to the previous year. This represents the slowest expansion since April and is a decrease from the 1.9% growth observed in October, also falling short of predictions for a 1.9% increase. The deceleration was largely due to reductions in sectors such as beverage preparation (-3.3%), fabricated metal products (-12.8%), paper and cardboard products (-6.3%), as well as machinery and equipment (-13.3%). Conversely, gains were noted in the production of pharmaceutical and chemical products (12.5%), other transport equipment (32.9%), and the basic iron and steel sector, despite its decline (-12.6%). Additionally, retail sales witnessed a decline of 0.4%, their first drop since April, while industrial employment saw a slight increase of 0.9%.
