Paraguay Inflation Falls to Lowest Since 2021

Paraguay's annual inflation rate decreased to 2.7% in January 2025, down from 3.1% in December, reaching its lowest point since April 2021. The most significant price increases were observed in food items, where inflation climbed to 6.7%, followed by a 3.7% rise in services. In contrast, inflation related to income remained low at 0.7%. Prices for other goods experienced deflation, decreasing by 1.6%. Core inflation, which excludes volatile items, was recorded at 3.3%, surpassing the overall inflation rate. On a monthly scale, consumer prices increased by 0.6% in January, a change from the 0.3% decrease observed in the previous month.
