Irish Services Sector Growth Slows to 4-Month Low

In January 2026, the AIB Ireland Services PMI experienced a slight decline, dropping to 54.5 from December's figure of 54.8. This represents the most modest expansion since September. The deceleration in the services sector's growth was attributed to a slowdown in new business growth, which reached a five-month low. Despite this, new business was broadly distributed across various sectors, with business services leading at 56.8, followed by technology, media, and telecommunications at 51.4, and transport, tourism, and leisure at 50.4. In reaction to the increase in new business, companies continued to expand their workforce.
