France Current Account Deficit at 3-Month High

France's current account deficit expanded to EUR 0.6 billion in December 2025, up from a revised EUR 0.3 billion in November. This represents the largest current account shortfall since September. The deficit in the goods account widened to EUR 4.0 billion from November's EUR 3.6 billion. Conversely, the surplus in the services account saw a slight increase to EUR 4.0 billion from the previous month's EUR 3.9 billion. Similarly, the primary income surplus rose marginally to EUR 4.0 billion, compared to EUR 3.9 billion in November. Meanwhile, the secondary income deficit remained constant at EUR 4.6 billion.
