Poland’s Consumer Sentiment Slips Below 50 as PCSI Eases in February

Poland’s consumer confidence softened in February, as the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) edged down to 49.74 from 50.55 in January 2026. The latest reading, updated on 12 February 2026, pushes the index back below the 50-point threshold, indicating a marginal deterioration in sentiment compared with the previous month.

On a month-over-month basis, February’s “actual” change reflects a decline in confidence relative to January, when sentiment had been stronger. The January 2026 figure of 50.55 itself represented the “previous” comparison point against December, underscoring that the latest move is a fresh weakening rather than a continuation of earlier gains.

The slip in the Polish PCSI suggests households are turning slightly more cautious after entering 2026 on firmer footing. While the decline from January is modest, the move below 50 will be closely watched by markets and policymakers as a potential early signal of easing consumer momentum in the months ahead.
