The Current Conditions Index edged down 0.2 point to 43.8 compared with January. Business leaders’ views on the broader Brazilian economy became slightly less negative, improving 0.6 point to 38.6, while their assessment of their own companies deteriorated, falling 0.6 point to 46.4. The Expectations Index also softened, declining 0.3 point to 50.4. Expectations regarding companies weakened by 0.5 point to 54.3, whereas the outlook for the Brazilian economy improved marginally by 0.2 point to 42.7, although it remained in pessimistic territory.
