Retail sales in Sweden rose 4.1% year-on-year in January 2026, accelerating from a revised 2.3% increase in December. Sales of durable goods grew 7.6%, up from a 4.7% gain the previous month, while sales of consumables (excluding Systembolaget) inched up 0.2%, recovering from a 0.4% decline in December. On a monthly basis, retail sales ticked up 0.1%, following a revised 0.6% decrease in December. For the three months from November to January, sales were 1.0% higher than in the preceding three-month period (August–October).
