Colombia’s exports rose 12.6% year-on-year in January 2026 to $4.25 billion, marking the strongest expansion since April 2024 and a sharp acceleration from the 1.3% increase recorded in December. The upswing was driven primarily by a 108.4% surge in the “Other Sectors” category, led by shipments of non-monetary gold. Exports of agricultural products, food, and beverages also climbed 23.0%, supported mainly by higher sales of unroasted coffee and bananas. In contrast, exports of manufactured goods declined 4.4%, while receipts from combustibles and extractive products fell 7.2%. The United States remained Colombia’s main export market, accounting for 31.9% of total shipments, followed by Panama, India, Canada, Italy, Brazil, and Ecuador.
