Irish HICP Edges Up to 2.5% in February, Slightly Above January’s Pace

Ireland’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose to 2.5% year-over-year in February 2026, according to data updated on 12 March 2026. The reading marks a modest acceleration from the previous annual rate of 2.4%, which was recorded in January on a year-over-year basis.

The HICP figure reflects price changes in February 2026 compared with February a year earlier, following the same methodology as the prior month’s comparison. While the uptick is marginal, it indicates that inflationary pressures in Ireland remain present, with consumer prices continuing to rise slightly faster than at the start of the year under the harmonised EU measure.
