The downturn in Slovakia’s car registrations moderated significantly in February 2026, signaling a possible stabilization in the country’s auto market. Year-over-year, registrations fell by just 0.9% in February, a marked improvement from January’s steep 15.4% decline, according to data updated on 24 March 2026.
Both figures compare each month’s performance to the same month a year earlier, showing that while the market remains slightly below last year’s levels, the pace of contraction has slowed considerably. After a deep drop at the start of the year, February’s near-flat result suggests that the sector may be bottoming out, offering a cautiously optimistic sign for automakers and dealers operating in Slovakia.
